NEHT now has a new website! ENJOY
At NEHT, we are dedicated to bringing information and recognition to pleasure trail riders. Our goal is to support a vibrant community that celebrates the joy of horseback riding and the beauty of nature.
● PURPOSE
NEHT is an association of riding clubs and individuals devoted to pleasure trail riding and driving. We act as a clearinghouse for information, helping riders find rides and rides find riders. Good horsemanship is encouraged through the distribution of our Pleasure Trail Riders' Guide
● RECOGNITION & AWARDS
NEHT tallies the mileage completed by each horse and rider in NEHT-affiliated rides and awards plaques when they achieve certain mileage totals (250, 500, etc.) NEW - Completion/ Participation Awards are also being offered for every 10 rides completed each year.
● CALENDAR OF RIDES
NEHT publishes an online monthly calendar that lists organized trail rides throughout New England. We list at least one and sometimes two or more rides or drives almost every weekend from April to November. Over 100 rides are listed every year. The rides are open to all.
MEMBERSHIP FOR HORSE AND RIDER
Individuals may join NEHT for a fee of $15.00 per year, plus $5.00 for each horse you wish to register. Individual members are eligible for NEHT mileage plaques. The NEHT Year Mileage Report will be available on the website, listing the year's accumulated mileage together with mileage and award markers—the monthly ride lists will be available on the website also.
MEMBERSHIP FOR CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Riding clubs and other organizations may join NEHT for a fee of $10.00 per year. Organizations receive the NEHT Year End Report and Mileage newsletter, which they may distribute to their members. Once a member of NEHT, a riding club or other ride sponsor may list any number of rides in the calendar for no charge.
WHEN WE BEGAN
Back in 1984 it was difficult to find trail rides in New England. Not that there were none but finding them was hard. A group of frustrated riders started finding ways through newsletters, posters and word of mouth to start connecting riders with trail rides. Once the internet began to grow in ability and acceptance, we refocused our efforts and here we are.
There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
